Lawn Mowing Made Simple
When it comes to mowing these days, if you want it to look good you have to do more than just run the mower over the lawn. It’s time to consider approaching your grass cutting service more seriously.
The Right Lawn Equipment
Firstly, you need to ensure you’re using the best equipment in your yard as you can. They need to be running optimally. In terms of your lawnmower, the blades need to be sharp and it needs to be working properly.
Don’t overlook yourself and be sure you’re protected out there in the sun. Put on some sunscreen, wear long pants, and make sure what you’re wearing on your feet will protect you.
Cut The Grass Often
This is a question we get asked a lot. The best answer is to mow more often than wait until your lawn is a foot high. Now, generally speaking, you can expect to mow your lawn here in British Columbia more in the spring and fall months. In the hotter summer months, you may be able to cut back to mowing every 2 weeks.
If you want to achieve the best results, be sure to not more than a third of the height of the lawn off at one time. The key is that by mowing your lawn you’re encouraging it to grow. When your lawn grows it needs water so keep in mind that watering your lawn on time is also important.
The Bottom Line
Mow once every week and keep that cut interval. Water and give your turf the proper lawn care. Keep the 1/3 rule in mind at all times. And above else, don’t go too overboard mowing the lawn. Enjoy it and take time to relax while you enjoy your yard!
